AtithiVani is a guest assistant for hotels and homestays in Darjeeling, Sikkim, Kalimpong and the Dooars. Guests use it on their phone in Bengali, Hindi or English, and can also chat in Nepali. A couple of hours after checkout, it phones each guest who agreed, on the property’s behalf, to ask how the stay went. It is made by SARGVISION Intelligence Pvt. Ltd.

What it does

• Answers guests in their own language, in the phone’s browser — nothing to install.
• Gives general guidance on Sikkim permits, from a rulebook maintained by hand; the desk or a registered operator confirms.
• Changes its road answers the moment the property’s staff or drivers report NH10 closed.
• Puts every request made through it in one queue for the property.
• Calls each guest who agrees after checkout; every call opens with a recording notice.
• Waits for the property’s approval on comps and refunds; nothing is paid out without it.

What it does not do

• It does not yet connect to a property management system, channel manager or booking engine.
• It does not issue permits or check them live.
• It is not the Sikkim government’s Atithi GIS or CBIC’s ATITHI app, and is not connected with other hotels, apps or services that use the word “Atithi”.
